We have recently been informed of an aircraft being displayed within the Barrington Wilderness Area on Google Earth imagery. This image is a classic example of an airborne aircraft being snapped by the satellite camera and there are many other examples across the Earth.

An aircraft is unlikely to rest within the Barrington Wilderness Area in such a near perfect condition as shown in this image. The shadow of the aircraft is also visible on the ground.

Present Google Earth imagery is unlikely (but not completely unable) to detect VH-MDX for a number of reasons with two of the major ones being:

  • VH-MDX is likely to be beneath tree canopy
  • Google Earth imagery is unlikely to be of adequate resolution to detect VH-MDX or a component of VH-MDX.
